Otra noche Folk en Buenos Aires

El sábado 18 de Setiembre integrantes de este blog se dieron cita en el local de la calle Bartolome Mitre 1552 llamado CBGB en la Ciudad Autonoma de Buenos Aires con motivo de la presentación de las bandas ZRYMGOLL y WULFSHON entre otras. Si bien la gente estaba citada para las 22 horas, las puertas se abrieron a las 23 horas en punto, siendo ZRYMGOLL la segunda banda en tocar esa noche. Antes de pasar a lo que fueron los shows propiamente dicho, hay que hacer una mención “horrorifica” no Honorífica; al sonido que tuvieron las bandas esa noche. En el repertorio de errores destacaron acoples varios, bolas de sonidos imposibles de comprender, y marcadas diferencias de volumen entre los instrumentos; manchando todo esto la reputación del sonidista de turno, pero aumentando el merito de las bandas que a pesar de esto pudieron demostrar su gran potencial y profesionalismo.

La primer banda Folk en presentarse fue ZRYMGOLL, quienes ya desde que se posicionaron en el escenario cautivaron a los presentes no acostumbrados a la escena Folk,con sus atuendos característicos . Abrieron el show con PAGAN WOOD a la que siguieron HEATING THE COLD NIGHT, MR FOLK, WINDFREE, RAVEN’S SONG, UNITED WE STAND, cerrando con el clasico BATTLE METAL de TURISAS. Dejando a aquellos que los fuimos a ver, mas que satisfechos, y ganando nuevos fans, que seguramente volveremos a cruzar en los polvorientos y cerveceros caminos del folk.

Luego de ZRYMGOLL llego el turno de WULFSHON, banda que con su viking Black, y profesionalismo, gana cada vez mas seguidores. El sonido de esta banda, sacando las dificultades técnicas, fue impecable, asi como la puesta en escena, en la que pudimos notar el porque de las reseñas positivas sobre su show en el ultimo Heathen Alliance el 17 de Abril de este año (2010). Esta noche pudimos disfrutar de los brutales DEATH IN THE LIGHT, TO THE BATTLEFIELD, THE CALLING OF THE ANCESTRAL BLOOD, SON Of WOLVES, PRIDE AND DEATH siendo COSMOS GENERALLIS el que dio cierre a su show.

Luego de esta gran dosis de folk, que nos dejo con ganas de mas, solo nos queda escuchar sus demos una y otra vez, en espera a que los dioses se dignen a brindarnos otra fecha que junte a estos grandes Exponentes del creciente Folk Argentino.

Outra noite folk em Buenos Aires...

Sábado, 18 de Setembro integrantes deste blog reuniram-se na rua Bartolome Mitre, 1552, chamado CBGB, na Cidade Autônoma de Buenos Aires com o motivo de ver a apresentação das bandas “Zrymgöll” e “Wulfshon”, entre outras. Enquanto as pessoas esperavam pelas 22h, os portões se abriram as 23h em ponto, sendo Zrymgöll a segunda banda a tocar nessa noite. Antes de escrever sobre o que foram os shows propriamente ditos, tenho que fazer uma nota “horrível” e não honrada; o som que tiveram as bandas essa noite. No repertorio de erros, destacam-se: acoplamentos diferentes, sons impossíveis de entender, e pegadas diferentes de volume entre os instrumentos, manchando toda uma reputação do sonoplasta do evento, mas aumentando o mérito das bandas, que apesar disso, puderam demonstrar seu grande potencial e profissionalismo.

A primeira banda folk a se apresentar foi Zrymgöll que desde que subiram ao palco, cativaram os presentes não acostumados com a cena folk, com seus trajes característicos. Abriram o show com “Pagan Wood”, seguido por “Heating the Cold Night”, “Mr. Folk”, “Windfree”, “Raven’s Song”, “United We Stand”, fechando com o clássico “Battle Metal” de Turisas. Deixando aqueles que foram ver, mais que satisfeitos, e ganhando novos fãs que certamente voltarão a se cruzar nos caminhos poeirentos e cervejeiros do folk.

Logo depois de Zrymgöll chegou a hora de Wulfshon, banda que com seu Viking/Black, e profissionalismo, ganham cada vez mais seguidores. O som desta banda, tirando as dificuldades técnicas, foi impecável, assim como a presença de palco, em que pudemos ver a razão das resenhas positivas sobre seu show no último “Heathen Alliance”, em 17 de abril deste ano (2010). Esta noite pudemos desfrutar dos brutais “Death in the Light”, “To the Battlefield”, “The Calling of the Ancestral Blood”, “Son of Wolves”, “Pride and Death”, sendo “Cosmos Generallis” que deu fechamento a seu show.

Depois desta grande dose de folk, que vos deixo querendo mais, só nos resta ouvir suas demos uma e outra vez, esperando que os deuses se dignem a nos dar outra data que junte esses grandes expoentes do crescente Folk Argentino.

Saturday, september 18th, members of this blog gathered in the place called CBGB, in Mitre 1552 attending at the concert about to be given by ZRYMGOLL and WULFSHON amongst others. People was summoned for 22:00, but the gates opened at 23:00, ZRYMGOLL was the second band to play that night. Before speaking of the bands themselves, there has to be an "horrorific" not "honorific" mention of the sound the bands had. In the long list of errors , some howlings, sound balls impossible to understand and very big differences in the volume of the instruments, staining the reputarion of the sound technician that night, but remarking the good work of the bands, the in spite of that, could prove their great potential and professionalism.

First folk band that night was ZRYMGOLL, whom since they took their places on stage, captivated the attending audience, not used to the folk scene with their usual costumes. They opened the show with Pagan Wood followed by “Heating the Cold Night”, “Mr. Folk”, “Windfree”, “Raven’s Song”, “United We Stand”, closing with TURISAS´ classic Battle metal,  satisfying all of us who went there to listen to them, plus gaining new fans, that surely we will meet again in the dusty and beer loving roads of folk.

After ZRYMGOLL came the time of WULSHON, a VIKING-Black band that gains more and more followers every time with their profesionalism. Apart from the technical problems, the sound of this band was flawless, so as their staging, in whichi we could notice the reason of the positive reviews of their show in Heathen Alliance festival, this april 17th. This night we could enjoy Death in the Light”, “To the Battlefield”, “The Calling of the Ancestral Blood”, “Son of Wolves”, “Pride and Death” being "Cosmos Generallis" the song which closed their show.

After this great dose of folk, that left us longing for more, we can only listen to their DEMOS again and again, awating for the gods to grant us another show date that gather all these great ones of the arising argentinian Folk.

¿Que es el folk?

En la helada estepa siberiana un chaman entra al mundo de los espiritus y vuelve con la sabiduria para su pueblo. En la oscuridad de los bosques britanicos, un druida cultiva la tradicion de su nacion. En el norte gelido, los drakkars se alejan de la costa en busca de nuevas tierras y de comercio. La indomita Hibernia hace bajar a sus hijos de las tierras altas para defender su libertad de los romanos primero y los ingleses despues.

Siglos mas tarde, y en una tierra distinta, otro pueblo se reune a escuchar las historias de lugares y tiempos lejanos. Historias de hazañas y batallas heroicas. De un tiempo donde los dioses todavia caminaban por la tierra a su antojo. De cuando la tierra era prodiga en sus dones y los pueblos agradecidos con ella. De un tiempo en que el honor y el coraje eran la medida de un hombre.

Esos somos nosotros. volviendo a encontrarnos como hermanos en cada recital, en reunion, regando la amistad con abundante cerveza y felicidad.  Rescatando aquello en lo que nuestros ancestros creian imitando sus virtudes en medio de un mundo en decadencia.

Y esta comunidad, Drunken Dwarf Clan, es nuestro intento por reunirnos, conocernos y compartir todo aquello que nos identifica. De difundir y honrar a los artistas y acercarlos a todos los folkers.

Para todos aquellos a quienes cuando nos preguntan : ¿Que es el folk? respondemos: FOLK ES HONOR...

Na gelada estepe siberiana um xamã entra para o mundo dos espíritos e volta com a sabedoria para seu povo. Na escuridão dos bosques britânicos um druida cultiva a tradição de sua nação. No norte gelado, os drakkars se distanciam da costa em busca de novas terras e de comércio. A indomável Hibernia tira seus filhos de terras altas para defender sua liberdade; dos romanos, primeiro e depois dos ingleses.

Tempos mais tarde, em uma terra distinta, outro povo se reúne para ouvir histórias de lugares e tempos distantes. Histórias de escrituras e batalhas heróicas. De um tempo onde os deuses ainda caminhavam pela terra a seu modo. De quando a terra era pródiga em suas dádivas e seu povo era grato por ela. De um tempo em que a honra e a coragem eram as metas de um homem.

Esses somos nós. Voltando a nos encontrar como irmãos em cada ponto, em reunião, regando a amizade com muita cerveja e felicidade. Resgatando aquilo em que os nossos ancestrais acreditavam, conservando suas virtudes em meio a um mundo em decadência.

E esta comunidade, Drunken Dwarf Clan, é uma tentativa de nos encontrarmos, nos conhecermos e compartilhar tudo aquilo que temos em comum. De divulgar e honrar aos artistas e reunir todos os folkers.

Para todos aqueles que nos perguntam: “O que é o folk?”
Respondemos: “Folk é honra!”

In the icy Siberian steppes, a shaman gets into the world of the spirits, coming back with the wisdom for his people. Amongst the dark of the British forests, a druid nurtures the traditions of his nation. In the cold north, the drakkars set sail searching for new lands and trade. The untamed Hibernia calls down her children from the highlands to defend their freedom against the romans first, and the English later.

Centuries later, in a distant land, another folks gather to listen to the stories of places far and times passed by. Stories of deeds and heroic battles. Of a time when the gods walked the earth as they pleased. Of a time when the earth was generous with her gifts and men were grateful. Of a time when honor and courage were the measure of a man.

Those are we. Gathering as brothers in each concert or reunion. Sprinkling beer and happiness over our friendship. Recovering that in which our ancestors believed, doing virtuously as they did, in a world at the edge of decadence.

And this community, Drunken Dwarf Clan, is an attempt to gather ourselves and meet our brethren and share all that identifies us. To spread the word and honour the artists, and bring them close to their folks.

For all those, who when asked: What is folk?
We answer: Folk is honor!
